What is The Mahaloka?
The Mahaloka is a soulful lumbung sanctuary in Uluwatu. We are not a single private villa, but an intimate property with multiple, exclusive lumbung villas that share a beautiful garden, free-form pool, and fire pit.
Am I renting a private villa or sharing the property?
You are renting your own exclusive lumbung villa (a two-story “house” with a private living room, loft bedroom, and bathroom). You will be sharing the property’s common areas—the main pool, gardens, and fire pit—with other like-minded guests staying in the other lumbung villas.
How many lumbung villas are on the property?
We currently have two lumbung villas. In the near future we are aiming adding two more to complete our sanctuary.
Is the pool private?
The main 11x5m free-form pool is a shared oasis for all our guests to enjoy.
Location
How close are you to the beach?
We are ideally located just 350 meters from the famous Padang Padang Beach, an easy walk from your villa.
How far is The Mahaloka from the airport?
We are approximately a 45-60 minute drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), depending on traffic.
Is there parking available?
Yes, we have on-site parking available for our guests – and it’s free.

What is included in my lumbung villa?
Each two-story lumbung features a plush king bed in the ocean-view loft, a private balcony, an airy downstairs living area, a modern bathroom sanctuary, a refreshment corner with a coffee/tea maker and microwave, and high-speed Wi-Fi.
Does my villa have a full kitchen?
Our current lumbung villas feature a refreshment corner for making coffee, tea, and light snacks with a microwave. We provide plates and bowls as well, but we do not have full cooking facilities.
The other two additional lumbung will have the full cooking facilities.
Is breakfast included?
Breakfast is not included, but your villa has a coffee/tea maker, and we are a short walk from many of Uluwatu’s best cafes.
Do you provide housekeeping?
Yes, our team provides daily housekeeping services to ensure your sanctuary remains a perfectly clean and restful space.
Is there high-speed Wi-Fi?
Absolutely. We provide complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi in your villa and throughout the property.

We can be flexible with these times based on availability. Please let us know your travel plans in advance.
Can you help arrange scooter rentals, surf lessons, or tours?
Yes. We would be delighted to connect you with our trusted local partners for scooter rentals, surf lessons at Padang Padang, in-villa massages, or tours to the Uluwatu Temple. This is a key part of our service.
Are kids allowed?
To maintain the serene, soulful atmosphere of our sanctuary, The Mahaloka is an adults-only property, welcoming guests aged 16 and over. This policy ensures a peaceful and quiet environment for all our guests.
Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate pets.
